Mighty Fangtooth

Above the bar in the Glenboggin Arms visitors are often surprised to see the stuffed remains of the largest Fangtooth ever caught. At 4 foot 7 and a half inches, it is over 4 feet longer than any other known specimen of the species.

Local legend has it that Albert Hoots-McLafferty, gt gt grandfather of the current proprietor of the Arms, caught this whilst sea-angling off the coast of Mull in 1856. It has since become the emblem of Glenboggin, and is famous throughout the world.

It is known locally as 'Effie', due to it's resemblance to Albert's wife, Euphemia - this comparision was, perhaps, a little unfair to the Fangtooth.
